On behalf of our entire staff we would like to welcome you to our office. We are delighted that you have chosen us to care for your child’s oral health. We are dedicated to providing your child with a positive dental experience, and to providing you with the tools to help your child maintain a healthy mouth.

A little bit about our philosophy of patient care: we strive to make each visit easy for your child. We allow your child to become comfortable with the dental experience at his or her own pace.

Good general health depends in a large part upon the development of good habits such as sensible eating and sleeping routines, exercise, recreation, and the like. Dental health also depends upon good habits – including proper tooth brushing and flossing, regular visits to the dentist and avoidance of excessive and frequent sugary or sticky snacks. We will have a chance to discuss these points further during your child’s appointments.

Appointments

Our office hours are 8:00am to 4:30pm, Monday through Thursday, and 7:30am to 3:30pm Monday through Thursday during the summer and school holidays.  To serve your needs, we have a 24-hour emergency service.

Because children grow quickly and changes in the mouth occur so rapidly, it is essential that examination, prophylaxis (teeth cleaning), and fluoride treatments be performed every 6 months. We may take selected digital x-rays at the 6-month appointment.

We value your time and ours. Every effort will be made to be on time for your appointment. Late afternoon appointments are usually reserved for older school children. Because they are fresher and more attentive in the morning, children in preschool and early primary grades are usually seen at that time. School absence forms will be provided if needed.

Treatment Options

  • Nitrous oxide/oxygen
Many children are calm, at ease, and secure in a pediatric dental office. Sometimes, however, a child feels anxious during treatment. Your child may need more than a gentle, caring manner to feel comfortable. We offer nitrous oxide/oxygen (sometimes called laughing gas or happy air) to make treatment easier for your child. Nitrous oxide/oxygen is very safe. It acts quickly and has a calming effect. It is rapidly eliminated by the body. Your child remains conscious when breathing nitrous
    oxide/oxygen.

  • General Anesthesia
For children who are unable to cooperate with treatment in the office, we offer treatment under general anesthesia at three local hospitals.

Fees

Our fees are based on the actual treatment provided. Payment, including all co-payments and deductibles, should be made at each visit when treatment is rendered.

If your child is covered by dental insurance please bring your insurance information with you to the office. As a convenience to you, our staff will assist in estimating your portion of the fee for dental services and in processing your insurance forms. Remember that you, and not your insurance carrier, are ultimately responsible for payment of services rendered in our office.

If your child needs to have treatment done, we will provide you with an estimate of our fees and you can discuss financial arrangements with our staff. We accept cash, check, VISA or MasterCard for payment. We also offer multiple sources for outside financing.

Please feel free to discuss any phase of our procedures with us. Remember that we are here to give the best possible dental care to your child.

Sterilization

We adhere to the strict standards imposed by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA). Each staff member wears gloves and face protection. All treatment areas are cleaned between patients. Instruments and hand pieces are heat-sterilized in an autoclave. Every possible precaution is taken to ensure the safety and protection of our patients and staff.

A Final Word

Please feel free to contact us if you need any further clarification. We welcome any suggestions you may have about our office or services. By listening to your ideas and requests, we can continually make changes to bring you and your child the most pleasurable dental experience possible.

Thank you for your confidence and for entrusting your
child to us for care.
