Dr. Rafferty and Dr. Ryan are a mother-daughter team dedicated to providing optimal dental care for their patients. Their office provides a nurturing environment in which children receive thorough and gentle dental care. As pediatric dentists, Dr. Rafferty and Dr. Ryan are uniquely trained with additional training in pediatric dentistry beyond a dental degree to care for the oral health and dental development of infants, children, adolescents, and special needs patients.
 Dr. Linda Rafferty
is a 1989 graduate of the University of the Pacific School of Dentistry
in San Francisco. She
did her pediatric dentistry specialty training at the University of
California, San Francisco in conjunction with Children's Hospital Medical
Center in Oakland, California. Dr. Rafferty has been in private practice
as a specialist in pediatric dentistry since 1991. She practiced in
Sacramento before opening a new office with Dr. Ryan in Roseville in 2001.
Dr. Rafferty served on the Craniofacial Panel of Sutter Hospital, and has also spoken to local study groups and pediatric medical residents at U.C. Davis Medical Center about pediatric dentistry. Dr. Rafferty has written several articles about children's dentistry in the local dental society newsletter.Dr. Rafferty and her husband, John, originally came from Baltimore and miss the Chesapeake Bay steamed crabs, but consider themselves true Californians. They have two grown daughters - Jennifer, with whom Dr. Rafferty practices, and Heather, who lives with her husband Doug and daughter Ruby in the Lake Tahoe area and is a Fashion Designer and Pilates instructor. They have an Old English Sheepdog named MacDuff. Growing up, the Rafferty family always had Old English Sheepdogs, which is where the office theme originated.
Dr. Jennifer Ryan
grew up in the Bay Area and attended the Dr. Ryan and her husband Donal have three children named Connor, Taryn, and Lachlan, and a yellow Labrador retriever named Finn. They both enjoy staying home part-time to care for their young children. In her spare time, Dr. Ryan enjoys playing with her children, hiking, reading, running, and photography. She volunteers at her children's schools and helps lead her daughter's Girl Scout troop. Both Dr. Rafferty and Dr. Ryan graduated with highest honors from U.O.P. School of Dentistry. They were each awarded the Pop Sweet Award for clinical excellence in the treatment of children. Both doctors are members of the national dental honor society. They have each made many presentations to school children and parents about caring for and protecting teeth. Dr. Rafferty and Dr. Ryan are members of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, the California Society of Pediatric Dentistry, the American Dental Association, the California Dental Association, and the Sacramento District Dental Society . Both doctors have staff privileges for treating children under general anesthesia at three local hospitals. Front Office Staff

University of California,
Berkeley, where she received her B.A. degree in psychology. In 1997 she
received her D.D.S. degree from the University of the Pacific School of
Dentistry in San Francisco. Dr. Ryan then went on to complete a three-year
residency in Pediatric Dentistry at the University of California, San
Francisco (UCSF). She was awarded her specialty certificate in
pediatric dentistry and her
Master's
degree in Oral Biology in 2000. While in residency, Dr. Ryan was
recognized for her excellence in the treatment of special needs patients.
She also volunteered at the UCSF Homeless Clinic, helping to provide
treatment to children and parents who otherwise would have no access to
dental care.
